Trailer and release date for Comme un avion with Agnes Jaoui

It's out on the web the first trailer for Comme un avion, the movie by Bruno Podalydes with Agnes Jaoui and Sandrine Kiberlain, that will be released in France on June 10: Here's the synopsis: Michel, la cinquantaine, est passionné depuis toujours par les avions.

According to Hollywood Reporter, Comme un avion with Agnes Jaoui is among the French contenders for Cannes Film festival

As every year, Todd McCarthy has written a piece on Hollywood Reporter, about the movies from all over the world that might be at Cannes Film Festival. Comme un avion by Bruno Podalydes, with Agnes Jaoui, is among the French contenders. Some of the others are the new movies by Rappenau, Desplechin, Audiard, Louis Garrel, Giannoli, Noe:

Cannes: Todd McCarthy on the Possibilities, Probabilities and Near-Shoo-Ins

".....The Cannes selection committee always waits until the very end of its deliberations to choose the French films for the competition, so quite a few high-profile filmmakers will have to sweat it out for several more weeks before learning if they're in or out. Among the leading contenders: Veteran 82-year-old director Jean-
Paul Rappeneau, who hasn't made a film in 12 years but now has finished Belle Familles, which stars Mathieu Almaric, Karin Viard, Nicole Garcia, Andre Dussolier and Marine Vacth; Arnaud Desplechin, who also has Almaric in Nos Arcadies (My Golden Years), a “sort-of prequel” to his 1996 My Sex Life...or How I Got Into An Argument; Jacques Audiard, whose last two films, A Prophet and Rust and Bone, played in the Cannes competition, is now pushing hard to finish Erran, a banlieu-set thriller about a Sri Lankan Tamil fighter; and Maiwenn, who scored with her first feature, Polisse, four years ago, and now has completed Mon Roi, a drama starring Vincent Cassel, Louis Garrel and Emmanuelle Bercot. The Garrel family could be omnipresent on the Riviera in May. Louis Garrel has finished his first directorial outing, Les Deux Amis (The Two Friends), in which he also co-stars, while his veteran director father Philippe has wrapped up his latest, L'ombre des Femmes (Women's Shadow).

Among the numerous other French contenders are Bruno Podalydes' Comme Un Avion, featuring Sandrine Kilberlain and Agnes Jaoui; the latest from Xavier Giannoli (whose The Singer and In the Beginning were both in the Cannes competition), Marguerite, about a singer in the 1920s and starring Catherine Frot and Christa Theret; Valerie Donzelli's Marguerite et Julien, based on an unfilmed 1971 screenplay by Francois Truffaut; Gaspar Noe's sex-loaded Love; and Eva Husson's debut feature Bang Gang, reportedly with boundary-pushing teen sex...." An intriguing analysis on La Nordisque on Bacri & Jaoui cinema (March, 3)

An intriguing article on La Nordisque on Bacri & Jaoui cinema:

To read the rest of the article click here

Agnes Jaoui to Femme Actuelle: "Best part in love is Friendship"

In A thorough interview with Femme Actuelle (March 2) by Amélie Cordonnier, Agnes Jaoui talks, about among topics, her character in L'art de la fugue, and regarding herself, being a mother, at which point of her life she is now, and how her relationship with Bacri is after their separation. Besides, a confirmation that one of the themes of their next movie together will be sense of guilt: ....

.... To read all the interview click here

Agnes Jaoui to Ciné, séries & cie: "To write is like to breathe" (February 28 - Video Interview)

Agnes Jaoui in the interview with Sophie Soulignac for Ciné, séries & cie, (it starts at 04:25) talks about why she accepted L'art de la fugue and her different views on writing, acting and directing. She also reveals (off records) that she'd like to write about the recent terrorist attacks and living together, but she still doesn't know in which form. The themes in the new movie she's writing with Jean-Pierre Bacri, are going to to be (it seems) the sense of guilt and atavism:

Laurent Lafitte talks about L'art de la fugue and her costar Agnes Jaoui (Allocine, February 25)

In an interview with Allocine,  Laurent Lafitte and Brice Cauvin talk about their new movie L'art de la fugue and Agnes Jaoui

J'aime son humour post-apocalyptique....To read all the interview click here

Jean-Pierre Bacri supports Adie, the association that finances the unemployed who wish to create their own business and who cannot get a standard bank loan:

Young Jean-Pierre Bacri among the future stars in the portraits by Marcel Thomas - Exposition 'Deja Stars' in Paris (February 23 - March 23)

Early Portraits in Black ad white of Sigourney Weaver, Jodie Foster, Jean-Pierre Bacri, Johnny Hallyday, Jean-Jacques Goldman, John Travolta, Brigitte Bardot, Al Pacino ou Sophie Marceau, are among the 400 shots by one of the first Franch paparazzi, Marcel Thomas, in Deja Stars Exposition opened on February 23 at Centre Culturel du Crous, in Paris where it will be till March 23:

Amelie Nothomb and Agnes Jaoui talk about how sexism still resists today (Femme Actuelle, February, 23)

Femmeactuelle asked to writer Amelie Nothomb and to Agnes Jaoui their take on sexism today. Here's what Agnes said:

 Agnès Jaoui, comédienne*, réalisatrice, chanteuse:

« C’est aux femmes d’agir ! »

Certes, on a avancé. To read all the article click here

Agnes Jaoui about L'art de la fugue, creating a character and writing a movie (Sud Info - February 22)

In an interview with Studio Info, during her participation at Festival du Film d’amour de Mons, Agnes Jaoui talked about her character in L'art de la fugue and her creating process as an actress and as a writer. Moreover she confirms she's already writing her new movie with Jean-Pierre Bacri:

To read all the interview click here
