Jonathan Coe has visited Leclerc and Bacri on La Vie très privée de Monsieur Sim set and shared some very positive thoughts

I’m thrilled that the great Jean Pierre Bacri is taking on the title role. Jean-Pierre Bacri is shooting La vie très privée de Mr Sim by Michel Leclerc - Set in italy & France

Jean-Pierre Bacri has started shooting In Puglia (Region in the south of Italy - among the locations, Brindisi, Tremiti Islands, Ostuni) “La vie trés privée de Monsieur Sim” by Michel Leclerc, from Jonathan Coe's novel “The terrible privacy of Maxwell Sim”.


Bacri stars in the movie that has in the cast also Mathieu Amalric, Valeria Golino, Isabelle Gélinas, Félix Moati, Vincent Lacoste, vimala Pons, lucile Krier, Daniel Di Grazia, Victor Belmondo. The story, a funny and touching dramedy is about Maxwell Sim who seems to have hit rock bottom: separated from his wife and daughter, estranged from his father, and with no one to confide in even though he has 74 friends on Facebook. He's not even sure whether he's got a job until suddenly a strange business proposition comes his way which involves a long journey.

Michel Leclerc confirms Jean-Pierre Bacri will be the star of his next movie, La vie très privée de monsieur Sim

Michel Leclerc confirms in an inrerview with La Depeche Jean-Pierre Bacri will be the star of his next movie, La vie très privée de monsieur Sim, an adapatation from a Jonathan Coe novel:


«Que le spectateur puisse projeter sa propre histoire» 


"....Quels sont vos projets ?
 Ma compagne (Baya Kasmy) vient de terminer le tournage de «Je suis à vous tout de suite», dont j'ai coécrit le scénario. Et moi à l'automne, je commence à tourner «La vie très privée de monsieur Sim», l'adaptation d‘un roman de Jonathan Coe, avec Jean-Pierre Bacri. Ma compagne a tourné avec Agnès Jaoui.

 Pourquoi une adaptation ?
 Baya m'a dit tu devrais lire ce roman. En le lisant, j'ai eu un énorme coup de cœur, je me suis reconnu dans le roman. J'ai retrouvé mes obsessions. Le film sera tragicomique mais aussi politique...." To read all the interview click here
