Five years after Au bout du conte, is arriving in French Theatres on April 11, Place Publique, the new movie directed by Agnes Jaoui,  who's also cowriter and costar avec Jean-Pierre Bacri. Here tere are all the basic news:

Synopsis in French from Unifrance:
Castro, autrefois star du petit écran, est à présent un animateur sur le déclin. Aujourd'hui, son chauffeur, Manu, le conduit à la pendaison de crémaillère de sa productrice et amie de longue date, Nathalie, qui a emménagé dans une belle maison près de Paris. Hélène, soeur de Nathalie et ex-femme de Castro, est elle aussi invitée. Quand ils étaient jeunes, ils partageaient les mêmes idéaux mais le succès a converti Castro au pragmatisme (ou plutôt au cynisme) tandis qu'Hélène est restée fidèle à ses convictions. Leur fille, Nina, qui a écrit un livre librement inspiré de la vie de ses parents, se joint à eux. Alors que Castro assiste, impuissant, à la chute inexorable de son audimat, Hélène tente désespérément d'imposer dans son émission un réfugié afghan. Pendant ce temps, la fête bat son plein...

“Place Publique” stars Bacri as Castro, a once-famous TV host who gets together with old friends, including his ex-wife, at a house-warming party on the outskirts of Paris. Over the course of that party, it becomes obvious that success has changed Castro, who used to share the idealistic political views of his former wife, and now has a more realistic, if not cynical, perspective on life. Jaoui also stars in the film.

There's a new release date in France  (March 4, 2015) for L'art de la fugue, the long delayed dramedy  by Brice Cauvin with Agnes Jaoui. Allocine got the official synopsis and photo:

 Antoine n’en peut plus du spectacle de sa famille, engluée dans une débâcle permanente. Son grand frère chômeur, Gérard abruti par un mariage en pleine déroute, se laisse manipuler par des parents querelleurs et fantasques, propriétaires d'une boutique de vêtements hors d’âge à Saint Denis… Louis, son petit frère, sorti d'une école de commerce, est lui, incapable de résoudre l'équation entre le respect et l'amour... Abandonnant Julie la fiancée de toujours, aux bras de son père... Antoine, lui-même, coinçé entre un travail absurde, le chantage affectif de ses parents et un amant (trop) parfait, n’échappe à la spirale familiale, qu’en tentant de résoudre les problèmes de ses frères. Jusqu'au jour où Ariel, l'amie de toujours, s’immisce, corrigeant les équilibres instables de cette famille... L'art de la fugue by Brice Cauvin with Agnes Jaoui, Benjamin Biolay will be released in June 2014

Finally there's a release date for L'art de la fugue directed by Brice Cauvin, starring Agnes Jaoui, Laurent Lafitte, Guy Marchand, Benjamin Biolay, that's been shot it more than two years ago. According to Zelig Film Distribution site the movie will be released in June 2014.

Co-written by Cauvin and Raphaëlle Desplechin (with Jaoui acting as consultant), the script centres on Antoine (Lafitte): his job as a tour operator, his partner with whom he is planning to buy a house, his colleague and friend Ariel (Jaoui), his brothers the neurotic Gérard and engaged-to-be-married Louis, his father with a heart condition and his cantankerous mother… Everything is going well, but nothing is right: he doesn’t want the house, Gérard can’t get over his ex-wife, Louis is cheating on his wife-to-be… And Ariel sweeps through this little world like a hurricane. Adept at the "art of finding a way out", Antoine will have to make a decision…

Jean-Pierre Bacri propose une solution de rechange au mythe du prince charmant et de l’amour éternel dans Au bout du conte, le nouveau film d’Agnès Jaoui qu’il a co-scénarisé. Le film s’achève sur cette phrase : «Ils vécurent heureux et se trompèrent beaucoup.» Votre scénario est parti de cette idée? 

Cette phrase est venue à la fin de l’écriture, mais elle synthétise effectivement notre envie initiale : casser les idées reçues. Notamment l’idée qu’une femme doit rester avec le même homme pendant 50 ans sous peine d’être condamnée à l’enfer. Toutes les vies sont permises et ne pas faire comme nos grands-mères n’est pas un échec.


Les contes font-ils en sorte que nous nous berçons trop d’illusions? 
Oui, mais je crois aussi qu’ils sont nécessaires, car nous avons besoin d’espoir. Moi, par exemple, je crois aux contes de fées. La preuve : je suis de gauche et, être de gauche, c’est penser qu’on peut contraindre le puissant à respecter le plus faible. C’est évidemment un leurre, mais ce leurre a permis à la société d’avancer et de progresser sur certaines questions. To read all the interview click here

 "Ceniona nad Sekwaną francuska piosenkarka, aktorka, scenarzystka, a od 13 lat również reżyserka filmowa Agnès Jaoui często bywa porównywana do Woody’ego Allena. Jej wielowątkowe, osadzone w środowisku paryskiej inteligencji melodramaty (m.in. „Gusta i guściki”, „Popatrz na mnie”) kręcą się wokół niedopasowania, odwiecznych problemów podszytych beznadziejnymi pytaniami o sens życia i sztuki. „Książę nie z tej bajki” to jej czwarta satyryczno-obyczajowa komedia poświęcona nie tyle miłosnym perypetiom z nierozwiązywalnymi dylematami moralnymi w tle, co kwestii przesądów, wartości nadających odmienny kierunek ludzkim zachowaniom. Humor widoczny jest w dążeniu do konfrontacji różnych strategii życiowych.
